  • AfroPop WorldWide: Advised on digital strategy for one of the country’s oldest podcasts & radio shows given limited resources and award-winning staff.
  • Al Hurra: retrofitted digital + social strategies for a wide variety of shows on an internationally-oriented Arabic language television network and website.
  • Al Jazeera’s ‘The Stream’: Was part of launch team, throwing launch events; working on booking, digital editorial strategy and all aspects of social media + television production for a revolutionary show at the beginning of the Arab Spring. Transferred to Doha for Al Jazeera English where I was instrumental in pivoting elderly editorial production systems for television to on-air success, building fact-checking into UGC video acquisition and a variety of other digital and production duties during the Arab Spring.
  • Antenna: Facilitate publisher relationships, engagement agreements, business development efforts.
  • Berger-Marks: Assisted in bringing a small foundation online for the first time, through social media and digital strategy.
  • Broadcasting Board of Governors: bid on and won a competitive contract for social and digital strategy across the Voice of America, AlHurra and other government-funded broadcasting entities in Washington, D.C. Crafted social media and digital strategies for six major markets around the world including various aspects of Africa, the Middle East, Russia and Cuba.
  • Brooklyn Children’s Museum: Advised the BCM’s Tech Council on innovations the organization could make to get past its aging infrastructure.
  • Counterspill: social media + planning for an SXSWi award-winning website.
  • DataNews: Built a 200 partner distribution network to highlight, facilitate distribution of content produced by WNYC’s award-winning DataNews team, in conjunction with many other projects at WNYC / New York Public Radio.
  • Geofeedia: managed launch efforts, helped with public relations and to build publisher network.
  • Hacks/Hackers: Advised on event, marketing and business development.
  • Hearts on Fire: Established a digital strategy for a very small team using social media to engage its two networks: general audience and a small community of social good influencers; assisted in website design, mobile optimization, practical communications strategy.
  • IBT Media: Audience engagement director, interim communications director for IBTimes + Newsweek; relaunched Newsweek in print in conjunction with team; lead team of four through a number of communications adventures.
  • Infoactive: Startup launch, successful press + kickstarter campaign targeting media + publishers.
  • LAUNCH + This Week in Startups: writing editing and shooting preceding the launch of the first LAUNCH, second and third conferences in the series; social media management (before/during/after event), event production etc. LAUNCH women leadership dinner organization and invitations.
  • LifeReimagined: Advised a seniors-oriented website by AARP on content strategy, distribution and partnerships.
  • Maya Schenwar: booked EIC of Truthout on a multi-state book tour; book launch press strategy; launch parties in NYC, DC.
  • never.no: Advised on publisher strategy, mobile and technical building for collaboration with media companies.
  • NoLabels: Consulted on digital strategy, activation for a nonpartisan think tank in Washington, DC around a State of the Union live event.
  • NRDC + OnEarth Magazine: Managed social media, marketing and crafted stories for one of the biggest environmental organizations in the United States.
  • Parlio: Acting as PR / communications coordinator for a startup built around a new theory of consumer & intellectual engagement online.
  • PBS NewsHour: Acted as the first social media producer for one of the foremost news shows in the country. Built web audience in the millions, collaborated in alternative content distribution strategies for stations. Team nominated for interactive Emmy for coverage of BP Oil Spill.
  • RadioLab / WNYC / OntheMedia: Planned, launched and executed on newsroom-wide social media and audience engagement strategy; built network of content sharing partners for the biggest public radio station in the country; built out platform-specific initiatives for individual shows, podcasts and projects. Advised on audience engagement for launching Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin; advised DataNews on content partnerships and distribution.
  • Socialflow: Advised on publisher partnerships, content strategies, building 1.0 of one of the more popular mass-distribution systems for social media across Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Integrated various new concepts for content distribution into the back end of the product, leading to more flexibility for producers and users.
  • Symbolia Magazine: helped with successful press efforts, national launch of digital magazine at the intersection of women, technology, journalism and graphic arts.
  • The Fiscal Times: Advised a small news organization on a better mobile, social, and email platform experience across content, design, infrastructure and editorial planning.
  • The Tiziano Project: Advised and fundraised for a small nonprofit training kids as journalists in developing and post-conflict countries.
  • The Waitt Institute: Communications strategy, public relations and audience engagement advice for a small Caribbean-focused ocean conservation foundation.
  • TheLi.st: Events director for a national group of women, monthly programming, coordinating sponsorships, communications, social media, writing etc.
